Nurse for Pediatric Day Care (Temporary Position)

About Us Children's and Youth Clinics are located at three hospitals in Sörmland; Mälarsjukhuset, Nyköpings lasarett, and Kullbergska sjukhuset. Our mission is to evaluate, care for, and treat children and young people in need of specialized pediatric medical care. Young people are typically treated here until they turn 19 years old. The day care unit at Mälarsjukhuset is located adjacent to the Pediatric Clinic. Here, children with oncological and hematological diseases are received for treatment, blood transfusions, and more comprehensive testing. Patients with rheumatic and certain allergological diseases and gastroenterology patients receive their treatment here from nurses from their respective teams. Most tasks involving needle placement, pre-medication, and sedation for operations, gastroscopies, and colonoscopies as well as various radiological examinations are handled here. Children and young people where the diagnosis and management belong to other clinics, such as ENT, ophthalmology, and surgical clinics, also receive assistance here with pre-medication and other care related to operations and examinations. We are a great group that needs to grow. At the children's and youth department, we work in interdisciplinary teams that include physicians, nurses, nursing assistants, medical secretaries, play therapists, school nurses, and paramedical resources. Your Tasks You will be part of the day care team. With us, you will have an interesting, varied, and independent work. You will also encounter different diagnoses and disease presentations, which contributes to variety and opportunity for continuous increased knowledge within pediatric nursing. Your Qualifications You are a licensed nurse, preferably a pediatric nurse or have experience in pediatric and adolescent medicine and are accustomed to taking responsibility. You have a professional approach in meeting patients and their relatives. You work in a child-adapted manner and consider the family's right to be involved in their child's care. You enjoy working in a team, while also having an easy time working independently and have the ability to plan and prioritize your work.
