Description:

Akademiska Hospital – Pediatric Hospital We are Akademiska Hospital – one of Sweden's leading university hospitals. As a county hospital and provider of highly specialized care, we serve two million people in Central Sweden. Here, something is always happening – a new life is born, a grandmother is operated on, a colleague is celebrated as a hero. With us, you will experience both challenging trials and amazing events, in a strong sense of community with colleagues. Welcome with your application! Our Operations Over recent years, we at the pediatric emergency department have worked hard to develop our operations to better receive all our patient categories. We have a vision to further develop our approach and therefore want to expand our strong team! At the pediatric emergency department, we receive and treat children and adolescents with acute medical, orthopedic, and surgical illnesses and injuries aged 0-18 years. Our operations are open 24 hours a day, and patient volume and work intensity vary from day to day. The pediatric emergency department is part of the section for acute pediatric care, which also includes the pediatric acute care ward 95E and the specialized pediatrics department. All units are located in very close proximity to each other. Your Assignment As a nurse with us at the pediatric emergency department, you work in a team with other nurses, nursing assistants, and doctors. The work involves standard nursing tasks at an acute pediatric emergency department and offers great variety in terms of difficulty level, content, and pace. Our patients arrive both on foot and by ambulance, and we frequently receive patients requiring immediate, acute care in the emergency room. All patients are triaged and prioritized according to RETTS-P. Your workday at the pediatric emergency department consists of many encounters with our patients and their families, and because patients' medical conditions can change rapidly, the work is both varied and challenging, demanding the ability to assess and prioritize. Your onboarding is structured and takes place at the pediatric emergency department in close collaboration with experienced colleagues and our development leaders, who are experienced nurses. A deputy department manager will also support you in your work and serve as your direct supervisor. We value a good atmosphere and always help each other. We place high value on security and continuously engage in various forms of training. After each work shift, we also hold a joint reflection. If interested, there is an opportunity within the position to rotate between the pediatric emergency department and the acute and specialized pediatrics ward, 95E. Your Qualifications We are now looking for you who are a licensed nurse. Specialist education in health and care for children and young people, as well as previous experience in pediatric care or acute care/emergency department, is highly desirable. Your Competencies You have a strong interest in pediatric care and find acute care exciting. You are confident in uncertain situations and stand by your own opinions, have the courage to speak up, and can distinguish between issues and people. You find it easy to put yourself in others' situations, listen, understand, and show consideration. You quickly find solutions to problems that arise. You are confident in your role as a nurse and have a desire to help make our operations even better. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability. We Offer We offer a permanent full-time position with the opportunity to rotate between the pediatric emergency department and ward 95E. Working hours are day, evening, and night shifts arranged via a point system. The point system provides both reduced working hours and financial compensation. For information about what the system entails, please contact the recruiting manager. Before hiring, a police background check will be conducted. Start date by agreement. A trial employment period of a maximum of 6 months may apply. With us you get benefits that make a difference, read about the benefits here (https://regionuppsala.se/formaner/). Want to Know More?
