Unit 1 has 14 care beds and is located at Karlahuset in Örebro, conveniently situated close to the city center and with good access to bus and train connections. We are a wonderful team of approximately 35 employees consisting of nurses and care assistants. We primarily care for patients with psychotic disorders and work closely with the psychosis care outpatient team that is also located in the building. We also maintain close collaboration with other psychiatric care units in the county and with social psychiatry services in the municipalities.
Duties
As a nurse, you will have a leadership function and responsibility for psychiatric care of inpatients together with other professionals. You will participate in rounds and perform standard nursing tasks such as medication management, assessments, and documentation. Your responsibilities also include supportive conversations with patients as well as contact and coordination with other healthcare providers, municipalities, and family members/caregivers.
We place great emphasis on conversations with our patients and teamwork with other professionals on the unit, as psychiatric care is based on collaboration and patient involvement. You will have a natural role in the unit's ongoing development and change work to ensure more person-centered care as well as a stimulating and good work environment. As a new employee with us, you will receive thorough orientation.
Qualifications
A registered nurse or specialist nurse with a focus on psychiatry is advantageous, but not required. We are looking for someone who enjoys working closely with patients, who has the patient's best interests in mind, who has the ability to tailor care according to the patient's needs, and who takes a holistic perspective and sees both the patient and their loved ones in their life situation.
Work in the unit is based on commitment, attentiveness, a positive attitude, and good collegial cooperation, which requires teamwork skills and social competence. Teamwork is fundamental to the work.
