The Gävle operations area includes the closed correctional facility Gävle, the open correctional facility Gruvberget, and the remand prison Bomhus. Our operations run 24/7, and the largest professional group is correctional officers, with support from just over a dozen other positions to ensure we fulfill our mission. At the facilities Gävle and Gruvberget, inmates are engaged in education, other structured activities, treatment programs, self-governance, or work in production, primarily carpentry. Job Description The Swedish Prison and Probation Service operates certain open healthcare services, meaning all correctional facilities and remand prisons have healthcare clinics where inmates can seek care. At these clinics, in addition to nurses, there are general practitioners and psychiatrists. As a nurse, you have your own clinic for assessing minor ailments, and you also assess which patients should see a doctor. This means you work with both somatic and psychiatric healthcare for inmates, assist at doctor's clinics, and administer medications, primarily through dose dispensing. Documentation is recorded in PMO patient medical records. You may also work at Gruvberget facility. Working hours are during daytime. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is confident, stable, and has self-awareness. You work well with others and have well-founded and clear values. In stressful situations, you remain calm, stable, and composed. You have strong integrity and the ability to make sound judgments and prioritizations. You are quality-conscious and thorough, and have the ability to structure your approach and drive your processes forward independently. We are looking for someone who has: Licensed Registered Nurse Ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish Driver's License Category B It is also advantageous to have: A specialization or further education relevant to the employer, for example in psychiatry, acute care, or open healthcare Work experience in the profession Relevant language skills Selection and interviews are ongoing!
