About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more staff members. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, detention centers, and inmate transportation. Job Description The Swedish Prison and Probation Service operates certain open health and medical care, which means that all correctional facilities and detention centers have medical clinics where inmates can seek care. In addition to nurses, the clinics also have general practitioners and psychiatrists. As a nurse, you will have your own clinic for assessing minor ailments, and you will also determine which patients should see a doctor. This means you work with both somatic and psychiatric health and medical care for inmates, assist at doctor's appointments, and administer medications, primarily through dose dispensing. Documentation is done in PMO patient records system. You will work together with existing nurses within the facility to learn routines and processes. Teamwork is important and ongoing, where we support each other during, for example, time off or other needs. Close, open, and unpretentious collaboration with your immediate manager is essential for collectively advancing healthcare within the operation.
