About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking more staff members. We are the authority responsible for correctional facilities, probation services, detention centers, and inmate transportation. Job Description The Swedish Prison and Probation Service provides certain open health and medical care, which means that all correctional facilities and detention centers have healthcare clinics where inmates can seek care. In addition to nurses, the clinics also have general practitioners and psychiatrists. As a nurse with us, you have your own nurse clinic where you perform standard nursing duties such as blood draws, medication management, wound care, and make your own medical assessments. You also assess which patients should see a doctor. This means you work with both somatic and psychiatric health and medical care for inmates, assist at doctor's appointments, and administer medications primarily through dose dispensing. You will be part of a team that, together with other healthcare providers and staff at the facility, provides healthcare at both the detention center and the correctional facility. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is confident, stable, and self-aware. You work well with others and have well-founded and clear values. In stressful situations, you remain calm, stable, and controlled. You are self-assured and have a good ability to make correct assessments and prioritizations. You are quality-conscious and thorough, and have the ability to structure your own approach and drive your processes forward. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group belonging affect you and others.
