Nurse - Palliative Medicine

At our Palliative Medicine Unit, we offer meaningful work with a focus on each individual patient's needs. You will care for patients admitted to our ward as well as patients in their own homes. Care is delivered in close collaboration with the patient and their loved ones in a multidisciplinary team consisting of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, dietitians, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists. About You We are looking for a licensed nurse who wants work where you can make a difference in people's lives. We appreciate experience and training in palliative care. You are confident in your professional role with the patient at the center, meaning you have the ability to see the patient as an individual and understand their needs. You are positive, flexible, solution-focused, collaborative, and comfortable working both in a team and independently. Since part of the work involves support and conversations, it is important that you have the ability for honest, open, and genuine communication. Your Future Workplace The Palliative Medicine Unit is part of the Geriatric Clinic and specializes in palliative medicine. We also operate hospital-affiliated home care (LAH) where we offer specialized palliative medicine in the Kalmar area. Care is available 24/7 and is provided by a multidisciplinary team with specialized knowledge and expertise in palliative care. We welcome students, nursing assistant students, and physicians in training. We ensure high competence through in-house training, continuous professional mentoring, and daily reflection sessions. The Geriatric Clinic offers inpatient care, home care, and outpatient services. We strive to recognize and develop what is healthy in the most ill patients, provide a geriatric or palliative care team to those who need it, lead and develop geriatric and palliative medicine's content and scope, and particularly prioritize patients with the greatest needs.
