The Orthopedic Department in Skellefteå has 16 care beds and operates both planned and acute services year-round. We care for patients of all ages, from 18 years and up, and we work in interdisciplinary teams where nursing care and medical treatment work together around the patient. The high patient flow means variation in both work tasks and length of care – from shorter interventions to longer care episodes. In close collaboration with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, physicians, nursing assistants, and registered nurses, we create a safe and developing work environment. We work structured with clear routines that provide support in daily work, while also providing room for new ideas and development. We are now seeking registered nurses for permanent positions and longer-term temporary assignments. With us you are offered working hours according to your preferred schedule with rotating shifts. You will receive a structured introduction adapted to your experience, to give you the best possible start with us. After the introduction you will be assigned a mentor for support in your continued development. You also have the opportunity to participate in our internal orthopedic training, the clinic's continuing education, and the introductory year for newly graduated registered nurses. WORK DUTIES As a registered nurse with us, you contribute with knowledge and commitment that makes people feel safe. You work close to the patient and the work includes identifying risks, assessing, addressing, and evaluating the patient's various nursing care needs. We work in rapid care chains where mobilization and return to previous life are pursued quickly after surgery. As a registered nurse with us, you perform nursing duties for an acute care department such as medication management, medical equipment, patient and family conversations, and planning. On the department you will have the opportunity to learn a great deal within orthopedics with trauma care, fracture surgery, and caring for acute illnesses. With us we care for a large variety of patients where we treat more than just the fracture. This means that as a registered nurse you get incredible breadth regarding all types of care and illnesses. Here it is your and your colleagues' knowledge and commitment that creates the conditions for good nursing care with the Patient at the center. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you as a curious and engaged colleague who contributes with knowledge and joy. You feel responsibility for the patient's well-being and the continued development of operations. You are a licensed registered nurse with an interest in Orthopedics and acute care.
