Our Operations The surgery/urology department includes three surgical and one urology ward, as well as five outpatient clinics where we provide advanced surgical and urology care. On surgical ward 70D, we work with highly specialized care in colorectal, endocrine, and acute surgery. Our patients come to us for both planned (elective) and emergency surgery. We are proud to be one of four hospitals in the country authorized to provide national highly specialized care (NHV) with HIPEC, for patients with disseminated peritoneal cancer and endocrine abdominal tumors. Patients from the acute sector come with acute conditions requiring surgical treatment. Common diagnoses include cholecystitis, pancreatitis, ileus, or gastrointestinal bleeding, as well as trauma from falls, traffic accidents, and more. Patients are admitted via the emergency department or as direct admissions from other hospitals. The combination of elective and acute surgery creates a dynamic and educational work environment where no two days are the same.
