Now there's an opportunity to work with us in Infectious Diseases! At Infectious Diseases, you will have the opportunity to work with competent and experienced colleagues in varied work with great opportunities to develop in your professional role. Here you will work with patients of all ages in a positive work environment with humor and good team spirit in close collaboration with nursing assistants, doctors, physiotherapists and occupational therapists, as well as other support functions needed to provide good and safe care. Over time, you will gain good knowledge of infectious diseases, healthcare hygiene and infection control, and you will be part of shaping the future of infectious disease nursing in an increasingly globalized world. The Infectious Diseases Clinic is responsible for providing infectious disease nursing, teaching, research and development for all of Sahlgrenska. We continuously work with competence development and use career development models for several professional categories including nurses. The department consists of four care units and a large outpatient clinic with acute and planned care. Department 301 We are approximately 35 employees in the unit, distributed among nursing assistants, nurses, specialist nurses, clinical nurse specialists, doctors and unit manager. As a nurse, you will perform common tasks on an inpatient ward with patient admission around the clock. The work is varied as we care for patients aged 16 and older with a very diverse range of conditions. We have both patients requiring isolation care and patients who can share rooms. We have patients cared for for a couple of days and patients cared for over longer periods. The vast majority recover, are discharged and have only one care episode in our department, while others return repeatedly. Some patients who need follow-up after discharge are followed at the clinic's infectious disease outpatient clinic, and in this way we follow the patient from first to last visit. The department has a specialization in patients with tuberculosis. You will learn a great deal about contagious as well as non-contagious infectious diseases. We care for patients with common conditions such as pneumonia, sepsis, soft tissue infections, gastrointestinal and urinary tract infections, as well as patients with hepatitis, malaria, heart valve infections, skeletal and brain infections. You will become an expert in antibiotics, routes of transmission and healthcare hygiene, and you will meet patients from around the world. The introduction is individually tailored. We plan four weeks of shadowing with regular check-ins and provide time for reviews and training as well as clinic-wide introduction. You will receive support from a mentor during your first year, adapted as needed. About You You must be a licensed nurse. Experience in hospital care is meritorious. We are looking for someone who enjoys working in a team and collaborating with many different professional categories, who has a strong interest in nursing care and infectious disease nursing. Great emphasis is placed on personal qualities such as teamwork ability, responsibility, flexibility, commitment, willingness to learn independently and to coach others. You can adjust your pace and prioritize when needed. If you are a newly graduated nurse, you will participate in the Clinical Foundation Year, which is Sahlgrenska's introduction program. The Clinical Foundation Year is mandatory and lasts for the first year of your employment with us.
