The Emergency Department in Umeå is growing - that's why we need more staff. We are now recruiting nurses who want to contribute with commitment and expertise to our department.
Region Västerbotten works to ensure that good health and sustainable development strengthen each other. We take responsibility for equitable welfare and for ensuring that research and innovation deliver results.
At the emergency department, we are open 24/7 and receive sick and injured patients who need acute care. This means we work around the clock on weekdays and weekends, and we receive approximately 47,000 patients per year in Umeå. At the emergency department, nurses, nursing assistants, and medical secretaries work in teams together with emergency physicians and doctors from various specialties. Work at the emergency department is skilled and requires flexibility and good collaboration abilities. At our emergency department, you also have the option to choose a modified work schedule model 3-3, which is a work schedule that allows more time for recovery.
New this year is that primary care on-call services in Umeå have closed and we have opened a primary care emergency unit under the emergency department's management. We are doing this by developing workflows and working methods to streamline the handling of primary care patients with acute problems. The goal is to create conditions for care in the right way, at the right place, and at the right time.
