About the Operation We currently have five hospital physicists with offices at the X-ray clinic in Falun. Hospital physics is an integrated part of the X-ray clinics throughout the region, which enables many social contacts. We also have close collaboration with Medical Technology. Our assignment covers X-ray diagnostics, dental care, interventional procedures, nuclear medicine diagnostics and therapy, and MRI in the region. New equipment is coming into our operations. A new SPECT/CT will be installed in nuclear medicine in the fall, followed by a pacemaker lab in cardiology. An upgrade of all CT scanners in the region will begin in the near future. Hospital physics also staffs Region Dalarna's radiation protection expert function. Responsibilities As a hospital physicist, you will work closely with clinical operations. We plan together on a term-by-term basis and assign work tasks based on interest and competence, which creates a flexible work environment with the goal of building broad expertise in hospital physics. Routine work such as annual inspections, dose measurements, and quality assurance is alternated with your own projects, seminars, and training. Hospital physics also collaborates broadly with other professional categories through modality and optimization groups. New staff members receive an introductory program, and work tasks are distributed in consultation with colleagues. In Region Dalarna, all hospital physicists are encouraged to complete specialist training (ST), and local mentorship is available in the specialties of radiology and nuclear medicine. The position is based in Falun but the work also involves travel to other locations in Dalarna. Qualifications Required Licensed hospital physicist or nearing completion of hospital physicist training. Good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. Good collaboration skills and willingness to work in a small team where you support each other as needed. Ability to work independently, take responsibility, and drive tasks forward. Interest in varied work across multiple modalities. Desirable B-class driver's license. Experience working across multiple modalities. Experience as a hospital physicist in healthcare. Personal Qualities We seek someone who is responsible, resourceful, and organized. You enjoy working both independently and collaboratively, and have the ability to adapt to the organization's needs.
