Systems Librarian

Balvu Central Library (Reg. No. 90009302988) invites applications for Systems Librarian (profession code 2622 05) – 1 position for an indefinite term Job Responsibilities: Administer, manage, and configure the library information system ALISE and related software applications for Balvu Municipal Libraries, and ensure system operations; Provide library services in the reading room; Create records in databases and electronic catalogs, participate in project development and implementation; Ensure collection development and accessibility, perform resource procurement, inventory, and processing; On a rotating basis, register and serve users on Saturdays; Participate in professional development and continuing education activities. Requirements: Higher academic, higher professional, or secondary special education in library science or completion of a continuing education course in library science, or higher humanitarian/pedagogical education; Excellent knowledge of Latvian language; Interest in cultural history; Ability to plan own work, ability to work independently and in a team; Ability to use the latest information and digital technologies at work; Ability to work with BIS Alise or willingness and ability to learn skills with information systems; Professional experience in library work is considered an advantage.
