SiS Youth Residential Facility Stigby on Visingsö has space for 35 young people and receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial problems, criminal behavior, and substance abuse issues. We are divided into an MBB unit (intake and needs assessment), four treatment units, and a discharge preparation unit in Jönköping. Job Description Do you want to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? Then the position as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivation work and provide support in daily life. We are now seeking a treatment pedagogue for our intake and needs assessment unit (MBB). The basis for intake and needs assessment includes, among other things, the National Board of Health and Welfare's latest knowledge support regarding assessments and interventions for children and young people who commit crimes or exhibit other norm-breaking behavior. Our mission is to stabilize the young person's situation and wellbeing and to stop criminal behavior, substance abuse, and other socially destructive behavior. Furthermore, we should identify the young person's individual needs as early as possible in order to effectively match interventions with recommendations and plan a care pathway together with social services, the youth, guardians, and family. Placement therefore begins with a systematic risk and needs assessment, screening of physical and mental health, and assessment of needs related to schooling. The goal is for a multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-based recommendations after approximately eight weeks. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal protection, planning, and monitoring of our operations. You contribute to maintaining safety according to our procedures. Contact person responsibilities are also one of your duties. The work may also include being a mentor to new staff members and interns. As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training lasting 10 weeks. The training combines theory with supervised introduction, equipping you for the treatment role in SiS operations. Qualifications To succeed in your work, you have a solid, positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and you share SiS values, being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our young people. As a person, you are secure in yourself and find it easy to build relationships with young people as well as with others in the staff group. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You work well with others and can handle conflicts in a constructive manner. You must also have: Diploma from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/educational treatment work or education from a higher education institution that we consider equivalent Class B driving license Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written At SiS, we foster good collaboration.
