The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse. SiS LVM-hem Hessleby, located in a beautiful forest setting just outside Mariannelund, accommodates men with alcohol, drug, or mixed substance abuse. We have special expertise in receiving clients with mental health issues or acting-out behavior. We have a mandate to provide care for clients with special care needs. Job Description Do you want to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people and clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivational work and provide support in everyday life. With the support of your knowledge within care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal certainty, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining security according to our procedures and participate in ensuring that daily routines flow smoothly with schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. Case management is also one of your responsibilities. The work may also include serving as a mentor to new employees and interns. As a new employee, you will undergo a 10-week SiS basic training program. In the training, theory is combined with guided introduction, and the training equips you for the treatment role in SiS operations. Qualifications To succeed in your work, you have a well-founded positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in a vulnerable life situation and you share SiS values, to be a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create commitment and participation among our young people. As a person, you are confident in yourself and find it easy to build relationships with young people as well as with others in the staff group. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You find it easy to collaborate with others and you can handle conflicts in a constructive way. You should also have: A diploma from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work, or education from a university that we consider equivalent Class B driver's license Good Swedish in speech and writing At SiS, we cultivate good collegial relationships.
