The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS LVM-Hem Hessleby, located in beautiful forest surroundings just outside Mariannelund, receives men with alcohol, drug, or mixed substance abuse issues. We have special expertise in receiving clients with mental health problems or disruptive behavior. We are tasked with providing care for clients with special care needs.
Job Description
Do you want to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? Then the position as a Treatment Educator at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a Treatment Educator, you work in a team with Treatment Assistants and Treatment Coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people and clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivation work and with providing support in daily life. With support from your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to ensuring that treatment plans are implemented. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal certainty, planning, and monitoring of our operations. You contribute to maintaining security according to our procedures and you help ensure that daily life runs smoothly with schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. Contact person responsibilities are also one of your tasks. The work may also include being a mentor to new employees and interns. This is a job for you who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in a difficult life situation. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, rewarding, and varied.

Working hours are according to a schedule including days, evenings, and weekends.
Qualifications
To succeed in your work, you have a well-founded positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in a vulnerable life situation and you share SiS values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our young people. As a person, you are confident in yourself and have an easy time building relationships with young people as well as with others in the team. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You work well with others and can handle conflicts in a constructive way.
You should also have:
A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education program at a folk high school or vocational school (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or education from a university that we consider equivalent
Category B driver's license
Good Swedish in speech and writing

The positions are permanent full-time employment and include a probationary period of months. Start date by agreement.
