The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually tailored coercive care for youth with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. Job Description Do you want to help create vital change for vulnerable people? Then a job as a treatment assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our clients toward new and less risky ways of living. As a treatment assistant, you are hired to provide care and treatment. You contribute to ensuring that the routines on the ward function as they should. You play a major role in stability and safety for our clients, and handle basics in daily life such as cleaning, meal preparation, and more. You help maintain order and security at the institution according to our procedures. Documentation is an important part of your work. You work on building trusting relationships and help ensure that our clients receive the safety and security they need to break established patterns. Together with your team of engaged colleagues, such as treatment educators and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, fulfilling, and varied. Our vision is to be a place of change and this permeates our interactions, our commitment, and our approach. Work hours are according to schedule: days, evenings, and weekends as needed. Qualifications Your personal suitability is key to vital change. Therefore, you need a good ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a fundamental positive view of people, great empathetic ability, and an ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and like to share your knowledge with colleagues. You must also have: At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational school (KY/YH) or equivalent education. The education must be oriented toward social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.* Class B driver's license Good Swedish in speech and writing Meritorious Experience from client-facing positions at the Correctional Service, e.g., Correctional Officer Experience from client-facing positions at the Migration Agency, e.g., handler at the Detention Unit Education in healthcare and social services Experience working with our target group, e.g., substance abuse care, youth care, young girls, etc. At SiS we nurture good collegiality.
