We conduct research in law with a focus on operational law and international humanitarian law, defence systems, military science, leadership and management, military history, and political science. The Swedish Defence University's Security Department is now seeking a Signal Security Chief. About the Workplace The Security Department is organized as part of the institution's operational support and encompasses preparedness, crisis preparedness, signal security, security protection, and operational security. This position is part of the security protection and operational security area but may also be engaged in other areas. The position is located in Stockholm. Responsibilities You lead, coordinate, and administer signal security work at the Swedish Defence University. The duties will be of both an operational and strategic nature, involving a high degree of collaboration and coordination both internally within the agency and with external stakeholders. The responsibilities include, among others: Manage and drive activities and projects within signal security, including equipment, training, and inspections Responsible for, together with the signal security organization, programming and implementing updates and reinstallations in signal security systems Develop and write internal regulations within signal security Train personnel on signal security and signal security systems The responsibilities may change over time as the operations develop. You will work closely with the security and security protection chief. Who Are We Looking For? We are seeking someone who has: Education and certification as a signal security chief A relevant academic degree or other education/work experience that the Swedish Defence University considers equivalent Multiple years of substantial work experience in signal security work Good knowledge of current regulations within signal security services and the security protection area Excellent ability to communicate in both spoken and written Swedish It is meritorious if you have: Experience working in the public sector, preferably from a state agency and/or university or college Technical knowledge regarding IT and signal security Knowledge within the IT security area Relevant knowledge within security protection acquired through education or work experience Personal Qualities It is important that you have good judgment, a professional attitude, and high integrity. You are organized and comfortable working both independently and in groups in an event-driven operation where you can plan, prioritize, and deliver with a flexible approach. You lead and organize your work proactively and take initiative based on a holistic perspective. The position requires strong collaboration skills and the ability to build good relationships, and you work easily with different professional categories. You actively contribute to a good work environment in your team. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. About the Employment This is a permanent full-time position that begins with a six-month probationary period. The position involves placement in a security class. Upon placement in a security class, a security clearance with background check will be conducted before employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act. Swedish citizenship may be required. The position may involve war placement. If you are already war-placed in your current position at an agency and your expertise is needed in the Swedish Defence University's war organization, negotiations will take place between the relevant agency and the Swedish Defence University regarding your placement.
