The Housing and Environment Department of Riga City Municipality announces an open competition for the position of Groundskeeper at Pleskodāles Cemetery under the Cemetery Management The Housing and Environment Department of Riga City Municipality implements unified housing and environmental policy of Riga City Municipality. The Department's goal is to foster a work culture where the work performed and results achieved are valued. We will entrust you with: ensuring timely maintenance and cleanliness of cemetery office and chapel facilities, cemetery and adjacent territories in accordance with the requirements of Riga City Council Binding Regulations No. 146 of 28.04.2015 "Binding Regulations on the Maintenance of Riga City Territory and Upkeep of Structures"; regularly, daily inspecting the cemetery territory and providing information to the cemetery manager about its condition (accumulated waste, dried and fallen trees (emergency conditions), broken fence sections, etc.); daily sweeping the main roads and paths of the cemetery, sidewalk sections adjacent to the cemetery, as well as those cemetery roads and paths necessary for funeral processions. Maintaining areas outside burial plots and territory adjacent to the cemetery; during winter, timely clearing main cemetery roads and paths, sidewalk sections adjacent to the cemetery, as well as those cemetery roads and paths necessary for funeral processions, of snow, and during thaw periods - spreading sand; participating in waste sorting processes. We expect from candidates: primary education; desirable previous work experience; state language proficiency: basic level 1 stage (A1); good communication skills, accuracy, and responsibility for timely and quality performance of assigned tasks; ability to work in a team; resilience under conditions of high physical and emotional stress; gardens tools and equipment operation skills. We offer: stable remuneration (gross salary 790,- EUR per month); health insurance policy after 3 (three) months; vacation allowance and other benefits; work location at Ventas iela 3, Riga.
