We are now recruiting staff for our locations in Linköping, Norrköping, Kalmar, and Jönköping. About the Job As a service attendant within Exam Service, you are the face of the university during exams and ensure everything runs smoothly from admission to conclusion. Your work takes place on-site in exam rooms, and at Linköping University we have 5 exam periods, typically in 2-week blocks in January, March, May/June, August, and October. During these periods, we expect you to have very high availability to work with us. There may also be work shifts between exam periods, but to a lesser extent. You will work with various digital solutions. As a service attendant, you are responsible for: Preparing the exam room for admission according to procedures, including materials, signage, and equipment. Receiving students, informing them about practical conditions, and creating a welcoming yet clear framework for the exam. Being available throughout the shift for questions and support, and resolving minor technical issues during digital exams. Escalate to the tech attendant as needed. Maintaining active presence in the room to support students and prevent cheating according to established procedures. Handling incidents such as fire, illness, or suspected cheating according to established procedures. Participating in preparatory meetings before exam periods and brief check-ins before and after work shifts. To succeed as a service attendant, you need to enjoy working in a team-oriented manner with a proactive approach. About You We are looking for someone who is attentive and accommodating, with a strong willingness and ability to find solutions to situations that may arise at work. You work very well with others and relate to them in a responsive and smooth manner. You take responsibility for your work tasks and adapt easily to changing circumstances. If a stressful situation arises during an exam, you remain calm and can prioritize the right things with a realistic perspective. We require that you have: Upper secondary school diploma or equivalent Basic IT technical understanding, such as the ability to troubleshoot simple issues Good ability to work in various computer programs Very good skills in spoken and written Swedish Basic skills in spoken and written English It is an advantage if you also have experience with: Work within IT Supporting colleagues on basic IT questions Pedagogical work Working in a team and contributing to team development Your Workplace The Facilities, Exams, and Scheduling Unit within the Student Division is responsible for scheduling, room booking, coordination, and implementation of written in-room exams, including the university entrance exam. The unit has approximately 30 full-time employees and over one hundred part-time service attendants. As an employee, you will work the shifts you and your manager agree upon during a period of approximately 1 year. You are not guaranteed a certain amount of work. We are recruiting staff for different locations, but you will be assigned to only one location. Written in-room exams take place almost daily between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., sometimes extending until 10 p.m. Exams are also held on Saturdays during exam periods. Some weeks per term have a higher concentration of exams, and during these weeks you need to be available full-time. Start date by agreement.
