About the Workplace The Mariestad operational area includes the open prison Rödjan, the closed prison Johannesberg, and Mariestad Detention Facility. Mariestad currently has approximately 400 employees distributed across various professional categories and competencies. With new construction projects, particularly in the Rödjan area, we are seeking personnel to staff both Sweden's largest open prison and an upcoming new closed prison. Job Description As a facilities service technician, you will work in our service department maintaining our properties, inventory, and equipment. You are responsible for daily operations including fault reporting, routine maintenance, and minor repairs. Together with your team, you will be the operational area's primary expertise in facilities management. This means you are responsible for maintenance and support such as facilities procedures, inventory, tool servicing, inspections, and coordinating contractors. You will also work in our central warehouse where you check incoming deliveries, sort, and package goods for distribution to facilities. The position also includes supporting the operational area's logistics when needed. Your role also includes working with your supervisor/prison inspector to ensure properties maintain a reasonable standard in line with the Prison and Probation Service's needs, planning and responsibility for specifications and inspections, and ensuring major work is carried out by suppliers or in collaboration with our landlord. You and your work team are responsible for annual inspections at the prison, which involves planning and conducting internal audits and inspections. You provide facilities support to prison staff and assist all departments with matters in this area. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is practical, structured, and not afraid to take charge and complete tasks efficiently. You have good teamwork skills, are solution-oriented, communicative, and have the ability to see the bigger picture. You function well in a group and are equally capable of working independently. You enjoy physical work.
