Service Worker, Nordstjärnan Care and Housing Facility

Elderly care services in Umeå Municipality aims to be a resource in close proximity and collaboration that empowers and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life. Nordstjärnan on Marieberg, approximately 6 km from Umeå city center, is a newly built care and housing facility that, together with a preschool and a production kitchen, forms a unique collaborative building in Umeå. The building has four floors and houses a care and housing facility with 60 apartments. On the ground floor there is a plaza with café and stage where children and residents can participate in shared activities such as art exhibitions, singing, or Lucia processions. The preschool's studios can be used by both children and the elderly. In the nearby area there is access to forest and nature. The courtyard has a greenhouse that everyone should be able to enjoy. The building also has a winter garden with the possibility of growing vegetables during winter. We are now seeking three service workers! Your responsibilities To allow our care staff to focus more on care itself, we are now looking for you who are interested in working with the surrounding tasks that also exist at our care and housing facilities. Your tasks may include: Cleaning of residents' rooms and common areas such as kitchen, staff room, corridors, etc. Laundry Ordering/receiving goods and distributing them Kitchen and food handling, meal serving, table setting, and dishwashing Social activities Simple maintenance tasks About you As a person, you have the ability to prioritize and work independently while being thorough and service-oriented in your work. You enjoy having contact with people during your workday and find it easy to collaborate with others. Work as a service worker is an active job where heavy tasks and transfers occur daily; good physical fitness is therefore required to handle the work tasks. We place great importance on personal suitability. Requirements Good knowledge of the Swedish language in order to communicate with residents, relatives, and colleagues Meritorious Education in facility management or as a service worker. Experience in facility management or as a service worker. Smoking may occur in the workplace, so you should not be allergic. Welcome to apply! Other information Working hours are daytime, Monday-Friday. The position comprises 37 hours/week, with work on public holidays if they fall during the week, not weekends.
