Shape how design and AI meet at Samhall Samhall has undergone a technology transformation where user needs are the starting point for everything we develop. Now we're looking for a senior UX designer to join our new design unit. What does the future of UX work look like in practice? That's the question we want you to help us answer. We believe the answer moves away from manually designing interfaces toward finding new paths from insight to tested solutions. For us, AI is not the goal but the tool: it handles the repetitive work and frees up time for human connection and creating value. We're looking for someone driven to explore possibilities, with the judgment to decide what meets our standards, and the systems thinking to build your insights into our design system. About the role You'll be part of our design unit, working with a design director, three service designers, and a UX designer as your closest colleagues, and you'll work closely with Samhall's technology and service teams. You'll drive UX work in your daily responsibilities, mentor your junior colleague, and take over UX initiatives currently managed by consultants. Your mission is to further develop our insight-driven and iterative UX approach, establish AI as a natural part of it, and ensure that Samhall's digital solutions are intuitive, effective, and accessible—not least cognitively. We keep customer and employee journeys in focus in all design decisions. Parts of the way of working are already in place, while we're building other parts now: you're not inheriting finished structures; you're helping shape them. You'll, among other things: · Explore before you build: gather insights through interviews, observation, and co-creation, and understand the problem before choosing a solution. · Work hypothesis-driven and user-close: test functioning AI-supported prototypes with real users in tight loops. · Make usability testing part of your daily work as Samhall's testing activities grow. · Own and develop our design system: principles, tokens, and patterns that AI-assisted development builds directly on, so every draft starts closer to right. · Build a way of working that learns: insights from every test feed into the next loop and make our AI support smarter. · Be the one raising quality: review and curate what's produced, with care for usability, consistency, and detail. · Make accessibility a given: accessibility is built in from the first draft, and your usability tests naturally include people with different conditions. For us, a solution isn't complete until it works in its real context. Who you are · You have substantial experience in UX or interaction design, and you've built or owned a design system used in production. · You've established ways of working that didn't exist before you arrived, and you know what it takes to make them stick. · You're driven to understand the people you design for, and you listen before you solve. · You can prioritize holistically: deciding what's most important to solve now and what can wait. · For you, AI is a natural tool in design work, and you quality-review what's produced. · You see accessibility as a natural part of good design. You have deep knowledge of standards like WCAG, but you also know that real accessibility is proven in meeting users, not in a checklist. For us, experience is less about years and more about what you've done with them. You share Samhall's values and are thoughtful, reliable, and engaged. Why Samhall Samhall exists so people with disabilities can develop through work. For a designer, that's something few employers can offer: the users who set the highest demands for good design are your colleagues. Designing together with them provides insights few others get, and creates solutions that become better for everyone. Application and practical information Interested in joining us?
