Senior Transport Operations Specialist

Our partner is now looking for a Senior Transport Operations Specialist in Lund. This is a new role where you'll have significant autonomy to build and shape the operational approach for global transport logistics. About the RoleYou'll become an important part of the Transport Logistics team and play a central role in ensuring efficient and stable transport flows throughout the supply chain—inbound, outbound, and reverse logistics. The team works cross-functionally with clear areas of specialization. Transport Operations manages daily flows and results, Logistics Developers work on process and system development, and Procurement handles commercial relationships with transport providers. You'll function as the operational link between these areas and will own how operational work is conducted, including working methods, prioritization, operational supplier meetings, and KPI tracking. Your responsibilities will include: Drive and resolve operational transport issues, identify root causes, and develop long-term solutions Develop working methods and standards, and track operational KPIs such as delivery accuracy, complaints, and lead times Lead performance meetings with transport providers and follow up on agreed service levels Analyze data and translate insights into concrete improvement initiatives Handle operational matters, complaints, and provide expertise for new services, supplier onboarding, and system changes Support and coach the team in daily work to establish a consistent approach What We're Looking ForRelevant academic background in Supply Chain Management, logistics, or equivalent experience At least 5 years of experience in transport logistics in an international environment, preferably from a freight forwarder, carrier, 3PL, or internal transport organization Experience independently solving complex operational problems Experience leading performance meetings with external transport providers Experience developing and improving processes and working methods Solid understanding of inbound, outbound, reverse logistics, and different transport modes Analytical mindset with ability to use data to identify problems and improvement areas Flexibility in spoken and written English and basic Swedish It's a plus if you have: Experience with multiple different carriers and transport modes Experience with KPI tracking and operational performance management Familiarity with Power BI and using existing reporting as part of daily work Interest in and experience with AI tools and new technology Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP and TMS systems To thrive and succeed in this role, you need to be comfortable taking ownership when situations become complex.
