Senior Schedule Planner / Project Planner for Railway and Contact Line Systems
We are seeking an experienced schedule planner who wants to take a key role in a comprehensive and long-term infrastructure program within railway and electrical power. The role is ideal for you if you have solid experience in qualified schedule planning on complex projects and enjoy combining strategic planning, monitoring, coordination, and close collaboration with project management, technical specialists, and external partners. The assignment is on-site in Gothenburg and includes qualified program and project planning for a national development program related to the replacement of contact lines, contact line foundations, and upgrade of electrical power systems. You will primarily work on the program but may also support other railway projects within the same operational area. Scope and Start Start: October 1, 2026 End: October 31, 2028 with possible extension for an additional 3 years. Scope: Full-time, 40 hours per week Physical presence required at the office 5 days per week Travel to projects and field work will occur, particularly during the production phase. Work on evenings, nights, and weekends may occur as needed. About the Role As schedule planner and sub-project manager for schedule planning, you will have primary responsibility for leading, managing, and monitoring schedule planning work in the program's and projects' various phases. You will serve as support to program and project management and be a central contact for designers' and contractors' schedule planners. You will work with both overarching program planning and detailed project monitoring. The role requires very good understanding of complex project environments, dependencies between technical areas, production, economics, and progress. Example Work Tasks Lead and coordinate schedule planning work within program and projects. Develop, develop, and maintain procedures, templates, and methods for schedule planning. Participate in the development and monitoring of project schedules. Review and validate project schedules, planning documentation, and progress reporting from designers and contractors. Monitor time, cost, quality, risks, and progress, and contribute to forecasts. Report status and deviations to program and project management. Actively participate in design, construction, and budget meetings. Coordinate with technical disciplines, adjacent projects, and external parties. Monitor work in design and production phases, including field inspections. Develop training materials and conduct training on schedule planning, procedures, and tools. Contribute to the development of requirements, processes, and methods related to schedule planning and contract management. Mandatory Requirements You must hold a university or college degree of at least 180 credits in civil engineering, technology, or another relevant field, or alternatively other education combined with experience deemed equivalent. You must have at least 8 years of experience in qualified schedule planning within infrastructure, industry, or energy. You must have at least 4 years of experience on complex projects where schedule planning has been your primary area of responsibility. You must have experience with planning tools such as MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent tool. You must have experience with monitoring, forecasting, and reporting of time, cost, and progress. You must have experience reviewing and validating schedules and planning documentation from designers, contractors, or equivalent external parties. You must be able to work on-site in Gothenburg 5 days per week. You must hold a valid driver's license (category B). You must have access to your own car – Let's Gig provides mileage reimbursement in accordance with agreement. You must have very good Swedish in speech and writing. Additional Merits It is an asset if you have experience with railway projects. Workplace and Practical Information The work is performed on-site at our client in Gothenburg with a requirement for physical presence 5 days per week. Computer and workspace are provided. Travel to projects and field locations may occur, and work outside regular office hours may be required for specific needs. At the start of the assignment, introductions and mandatory training in areas such as information security, safety, ethics, and confidentiality may occur.
