Your Responsibilities
As a Strategic Procurement professional, you will be responsible for the entire commercial process, from requests and negotiations to contract signing and supplier development. The role also includes responsibility for developing and managing supplier relationships while ensuring competitiveness, quality, compliance with requirements, and long-term value creation.
The role requires close collaboration and continuous dialogue with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers. It requires a structured approach, the ability to lead supplier teams, and a good understanding of both business benefits and total cost of ownership perspectives. This includes more extensive areas of responsibility, such as:
• Drive advanced procurement and negotiations with strategic suppliers both nationally and internationally
• Manage commercial contracts and long-term supplier strategies
• Ensure competitive and sustainable business solutions throughout the product lifecycle
• Drive the development, monitoring, and execution of category and supplier strategies
• Work closely with internal stakeholders across multiple parts of the organization
• Participate in strategic projects related to, for example, localization and supply chain development
• Lead and collaborate with other strategists and operational procurement professionals
Your Profile
We are looking for someone with experience in business strategy work and who thrives in cross-functional collaboration. You are proactive, adaptable, and motivated by working in a dynamic environment. You have strong negotiation experience in international contexts, the ability to analyze total cost of ownership over the lifecycle, and are skilled at building long-term relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
We believe you have:
• Engineering/Economics degree or equivalent academic background
• Strong interest in and understanding of technology
• Minimum 10 years of experience in strategic procurement
• Strong experience with advanced negotiations in complex business environments
• Strong experience developing and managing strategic supplier relationships
• Strong experience with contract work and commercial negotiations
• Very good understanding of business and legal matters
• Experience from industrial or technology-driven operations
• Excellent English proficiency both spoken and written
• Experience from international organizations
It is considered a merit if you have prior work experience in the industry.
The position requires that you undergo and are approved according to applicable security clearance regulations. For positions where Saab has security classification requirements, certain citizenship may be required in some cases.
