About the Position As a relay protection engineer, you will become a key person in a team of experienced specialists responsible for relay protection systems in our facilities. You will work across the entire chain from system design to calculations, relay settings, and analysis. You will, among other things: Design relay protection systems and develop protection settings for AC substations. Lead the development of new protection concepts. Provide extensive expert support to both experienced and new colleagues. Lead the development of standard configurations for relay protection (standardization). Develop and drive the implementation of new types of relay protection for the transmission network. Participate in technical specification and investigations within protection systems. Manage protection systems in our facility projects. Participate in management and technical development within the area. Contribute to international collaborations, such as CIGRÉ assignments. Participate in disturbance analysis of the transmission network. We are in an exciting phase of society's electrification, where our relay protection expertise plays a crucial role in enabling the transition to a sustainable energy system. You will become part of the Protection Systems unit, which consists of 15 dedicated colleagues with deep expertise in relay protection. Our mission is to support Svenska kraftnät with expertise in the field and ensure that our requirements and systems maintain the highest technical standards. About You Mandatory Requirements You enjoy solving complex problems and work methodically with a focus on quality, collaboration, and results. You like to share knowledge with colleagues and contribute to a culture where we learn from each other. We want you to have a civil or master's degree in electrical engineering, energy systems, or equivalent. You may also have acquired relevant expertise in other ways that the employer deems equivalent. The role requires that you have: At least 10 years of work experience with protection systems. Several years of experience with directly grounded networks (130–400 kV). At least 10 years of experience independently developing relay setting plans and selectivity plans. Several years of experience providing expert support to both experienced and new colleagues. Experience with multiple generations of relay protection devices (numerical, static, electromechanical). At least 10 years of experience working with disturbance analysis for directly grounded networks (130–400 kV). Experience working with standard configurations within relay protection systems. Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. We consider it meritorious if you have experience with: Calculation software such as CAPE, PSS/E, or similar.
