Mid Sweden University is undertaking a major development initiative to recruit students from third countries (outside the EU/EES). We need to build an organization within the university and work with agents in different parts of the world. Mid Sweden University is therefore seeking an experienced senior advisor with deep expertise in the higher education sector for a strategic and consultative development assignment. This is a strategically important assignment where you will contribute your experience, analysis, and advice in a development effort of great significance for Mid Sweden University's future. Duties The assignment is consultative and occurs on an ongoing basis in close dialogue with university leadership and, in due course, with the International Student Recruitment Manager responsible for this area. It may, for example, include: - Contributing to recruitment processes - Supporting and serving as a mentor for the International Student Recruitment Manager - Advising and supporting in the development of project plans and similar documents - Contributing valuable contacts and relationships - Providing recommendations and strategic input for future work Your Background We are looking for someone with: - At least five years of experience in the higher education sector - At least five years of experience recruiting fee-paying students - Experience building similar operations at other educational institutions - Good understanding of team-driven, ambition-driven, and efficiency-focused work - Ability to provide clear and strategic advice in complex environments Your Qualities In this role, you need strong analytical abilities and the ability to quickly create clarity in complex contexts. You communicate clearly and in a trustworthy manner and have the ability to explain complex issues in an understandable way. You are attentive and can see different perspectives, while providing well-founded and strategic recommendations with integrity and good judgment. You contribute to professional and open collaboration across different parts of the organization. We place great importance on your personal qualities. Employment and Start Date This is a fixed-term position comprising 20% of full-time employment starting October 15, 2026 or by agreement, but no later than December 31, 2027, with possible opportunity for extension. Work Location: Östersund or Sundsvall. Travel is part of the work, and there are good opportunities for flexibility between on-site and remote work.
