We are seeking a highly experienced senior project manager for a long-term consulting assignment within a major and technically complex marine construction project. You will have overall responsibility for driving and coordinating the construction project with a focus on schedule, budget, scope, and quality. The role involves close collaboration with construction management, technical specialists, and contractors, as well as significant personal responsibility for decision-making and project advancement. The project environment encompasses advanced marine construction work such as dredging, sheet pile structures, concrete work, heavy mobile structures, and erosion protection. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate the execution of a major construction project. Monitor schedule, budget, quality, and technical content. Coordinate construction management and technical support functions. Ensure that production complies with contract documents and work specifications. Manage deviations, notifications, and change order work. Ensure that counter-calculations are prepared as needed. Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial monitoring. Monitor control programs and control plans, including quality, environment, and occupational health and safety. Participate in planning and execution of inspections. Manage extensive internal and external contacts and negotiations. Requirements for the Role To be considered, you must meet all of the following requirements: Minimum 20 years of professional experience from construction projects. Civil engineering degree in civil or water engineering, or equivalent education and expertise. Documented experience leading at least one complex construction project with a contract value exceeding 500 MSEK where a significant portion consisted of marine work in a port environment and near shipping channels. Experience must be verifiable through reference. Experience from the client/owner side as a project manager, construction manager, or equivalent in a complex construction project that included dredging of both rock and loose materials. Experience from the client/owner side on major construction projects with complex sheet pile structures in marine environments, including concrete coping beams. Experience with projects involving foundation work for heavy mobile structures in marine environments. Experience from construction projects involving dredging near load-bearing structures and erosion protection using stone and concrete. Solid knowledge of AB, ABT, ABK, AMA, and MER. Experience with budget work, forecasts, and financial monitoring. Strong negotiation skills and extensive experience from the construction industry. Experience working in project teams where extensive coordination has been a central part of the work. Good familiarity with management systems, regulations, guidelines, and standards used in major Swedish infrastructure projects and relevant occupational health and safety regulations. Valid driver's license (category B). Flexibility in language – excellent Swedish, both spoken and written. Ability to work full-time and be on-site five days per week. Meritorious Qualifications It is particularly meritorious if you can demonstrate concrete examples of: A clear and proven approach to managing schedule, cost, and scope. Structured coordination and management of construction management organizations. Successful collaboration with contractors in technically and commercially complex projects. Handling of challenging deviations, change order issues, and negotiations. Projects requiring coordination across multiple technical areas and numerous internal and external stakeholders. About You You are a senior and confident project manager experienced in managing large and complex construction projects. You work systematically, make decisions, and drive matters forward while maintaining an overall perspective. The role requires high personal integrity, strong collaboration skills, and the ability to navigate situations where technical, financial, and commercial interests do not always align. You must be able to communicate clearly with contractors, construction management, technical specialists, and management functions. Work Location and Arrangement The assignment is conducted on-site in the Stockholm area five days per week and corresponds to full-time work, normally approximately 40 hours per week. Work is typically conducted during business hours. Business travel may occur. Workspace and computer are provided as part of the assignment. The assignment may be suitable for both those interested in consulting employment and those operating through their own company.
