Our client is seeking an experienced project manager with the ability to drive change and implementation projects to create business value. This is not a technical project management role—rather, the client is looking for someone whose strength lies in leading business projects, anchoring changes, and ensuring that solutions gain traction and create real impact within the organization. To succeed in this assignment, you need experience planning, directing, and implementing the development and introduction of new business-focused IT support. This also includes experience managing project budgets and timelines, as well as overseeing a project overall and coordinating with its stakeholders. You are accustomed to securing the right scope to achieve the right value in relation to the chosen investment level.
The role requires technical understanding as well as strong leadership, change management, and communication skills. You are comfortable operating at strategic, tactical, and operational levels and have many years of experience leading through other leaders.
You will have overall responsibility for leading and driving the project, where you are responsible for the entire process from needs analysis and requirements specification through implementation and launch. You work closely with the business to understand needs and processes, then translate these into concrete activities. You hold the entire project together and serve as the primary spokesperson to the steering group and agency leadership.
Together with, among others, sub-project managers for IT development, an implementation manager, domain architect, business architect, and business specialists, you are responsible for planning and leading the implementation and rollout of the entire project. The development involves dependencies on other system areas, which as an Initiative Manager means coordinated planning and coordination at an overall level. A central part of succeeding in the role is actively ensuring the capability of other leaders—by creating conditions and navigating the collaboration required for effective work.
The client expects us to conduct follow-up and status reporting according to the agency's guidelines. You are responsible for preparing decision support materials with alternative solutions and costs to ensure that the project's results contribute to business value. You support the implementation and change in the organization through communication and anchoring activities.
The work is conducted using agile working methods within the framework of the agency's governing rules, which means you should be comfortable with agile work methods in combination with traditional project models such as Pejl, PPS, or similar.
This is a consulting assignment for 12 months.
Work location: Sundbyberg. For this assignment, there is an opportunity to work partially remotely; 3 days per week the work must be based at the specified office and work location.
Requirements
Approximately 10 years of professional experience as a project manager, including both business development and development of IT solutions.
At least five (5) years of professional experience leading change management and IT solution implementation in business operations.
At least ten (10) years of professional experience with traditional project methodology.
Solid technical understanding related to systems development.
Strong communication skills; able to create alignment and mutual understanding of needs and value with both business representatives and clearly articulate decisions to a steering group.
Coaching approach; actively drives knowledge transfer and strengthens independence in those you collaborate with.
Analytical and structured; able to navigate complex stakeholder landscapes without requiring detailed direction.
Meritorious
Experience driving complex business development with IT at a government agency (at least 2,000 employees) with senior leadership as the client.
Experience digitizing case management processes.
