SGDS's central IT department is responsible for managing, operating and further developing the digital platforms, business systems and infrastructure solutions that keep the entire business running. Through stable operations, high information security and continuous technical improvement work, a robust IT environment is ensured that supports everything from the daily needs of stores and the logistics chain to sales functions, customer-facing systems, financial processes, sustainability efforts, analysis platforms and other central business areas.
The IT department works closely with the business with the mission to deliver scalable, modern solutions that drive digitalization forward throughout the organization, while streamlining processes and creating conditions for an even stronger and more cohesive customer experience. The IT department is also part of Saint-Gobain Distribution Nordic and some assignments may occur across borders.
Responsibilities
As a Network Specialist, you have overall responsibility for network infrastructure, both strategically and operationally. You work closely with other parts of the IT organization and drive the development of network services in line with business needs.
You combine technical leadership with hands-on work and serve as a central point of contact for complex issues. The role also includes responsibility for ensuring that the network environment is secure, documented and complies with established standards.
At the same time, you lead the planning and prioritization of your team's work and ensure that incidents, problems and changes are handled in a structured manner. You also work on long-term development, capacity planning and cost optimization.
Examples of responsibilities:
Responsible for design, architecture and lifecycle management of network infrastructure
Serve as technical expert and handle complex incidents
Ensure network security (firewalls, IDS/IPS, authentication and access)
Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver solutions
Education, Experience and Personal Qualities
Several years of experience as a senior network specialist or network engineer
Experience of technical leadership or team responsibility
Deep expertise in enterprise networks (LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, firewalls, VPN)
Experience with zero touch deployment (Ansible or similar)
Experience with architecture and design of network solutions
Network certifications (e.g. CCNP/CCIE, Aruba Certified, Fortinet NSE)
Experience in network security
Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
