We are now seeking an environmental planner for the division, which consists of approximately 10 people, two of whom are environmental planners. Your New Role As an environmental planner at Österåker Municipality, you will have a central role in creating a sustainable and attractive municipality for current and future generations. The role involves being an active participant in ensuring that the sustainability perspective permeates all stages of the planning process, from early investigations to completed detailed plans. You will work both strategically and operatively to identify, analyze, and find solutions to complex environmental issues, and within the project group make trade-offs between different interests. The role contributes expertise in areas such as stormwater management, agricultural land, ecosystem services, contaminated land, and species protection. The role also involves close collaboration with other stakeholders, both within and outside the municipality. This responsibility includes, for example: Providing environmental support in detailed planning work Participating as a project member or project leader for strategic investigation assignments Responsibility for or participation in procurements Responding to referrals, citizen proposals, and motions within environmental matters Preparing matters for political decision-making Responsibility for or contribution to developing routines and methods for daily work The role is based in Åkersberga, with opportunities for remote work, and you report to the Head of the Strategic Planning Division. Your Profile We are primarily seeking a senior and experienced person who has worked with environmental planning within a politically governed organization. You have experience working as an environmental planner or in environmental strategic work and within societal development processes. To be successful in this role, you need to have relevant academic education in environmental or societal planning. You have experience working with the Environmental Code and the Planning and Building Act. Experience with GIS and project management is a merit. You express yourself well in Swedish in both speech and writing. We place great importance on your personal qualities. To succeed in this role, you need to have good collaboration skills and enjoy working together with others to achieve common goals. You are proactive and take initiative to advance matters, while also contributing solution suggestions and ideas for improvement. You possess good communication skills and express yourself clearly, while adapting your communication to different audiences. Furthermore, you take responsibility for your tasks and drive projects forward with thoroughness and focus on quality. You are both persistent and patient, which means you continue to work focused and goal-oriented even in the face of setbacks. You also have the ability to handle complex and long-term processes with thoroughness and perseverance. Extent of Employment Full-time Terms of Employment For this role, the starting salary normally ranges between 50,000–57,000 kr depending on experience and competence.
