Senior Financial Controller at Quest Consulting

Assignment Description In this role, you will step into a business-close and advisory position where you support management in ongoing financial management. The work is conducted in close collaboration with the operations team and requires a high degree of independent work capability, financial analysis skills, and ability to build trusting relationships. Your main responsibilities: Management Support: Provide strategic and operational controller support to department heads, unit managers, and other decision-makers. Forecasting & Budgeting: Drive and assist in developing full-year forecasts and budget planning for assigned units. Monitoring & Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analyses, budget follow-ups, and variance analyses. Advisory: Offer support and guidance on general financial management tailored to operational needs. Mandatory Requirements University degree in economics or equivalent education. At least 3 years of documented experience as a financial or economics controller. Documented experience with financial management in public sector operations. Documented experience with budget planning, full-year forecasts, and financial monitoring. Documented experience providing controller support to department heads, unit managers, or equivalent positions. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and fluent communication in Swedish, both verbally and in writing. Desirable Requirements Experience working at a state agency. Experience with operational management and interpretation/application of appropriation letters and government policy documents. Experience with appropriation accounting and/or state aid reporting. Experience with business valuation. Personal Qualities You are self-driven, responsible, and possess excellent analytical skills. You work in a structured and thorough manner with the ability to drive your processes forward proactively. You are communicative, have strong collaboration skills, and a natural ability to build trusting relationships through dialogue with managers and operational teams. Assignment Details and Terms Start Date: 2026-09-07 End Date: 2027-01-21 Option: 2027-07-28 Remote Work: Physical presence at the office is required on Tuesdays and Thursdays; other times by agreement.
