About the Role
As a senior structural engineer, you are responsible for our most qualified calculations and serve as a specialist in structural analysis and dimensioning. You work closely with other structural designers and contribute your expertise throughout the project phase – from technical investigations and verification calculations to finished structural solutions.
A large part of the assignments involve renovations and extensions where existing steel and concrete structures need to be analyzed, dimensioned, and adapted to new conditions. The projects place high demands on technical understanding, experience, and good knowledge of applicable regulations. The focus is on technology, problem-solving, and being the company's specialist in calculation and dimensioning.
In this role, you will, among other things:
Perform advanced structural calculations and FEM analyses.
Dimension structures in steel, concrete, and wood.
Conduct technical investigations and verification calculations of existing structures.
Provide technical support to the company's structural designers.
Contribute to quality assurance and development of the company's calculation work.
Review and ensure quality of other structural designers' calculations.
You will be the company's leading specialist in structural calculations and serve as a technical sounding board for other structural designers. You will work in our modern office in a property that we ourselves designed and built in Strängnäs. Your Profile
We are looking for someone with a solid background in building construction and many years of experience with qualified structural projects. You enjoy technically complex questions, have a structured working approach, and like to share your knowledge with colleagues.
We are looking for someone who has:
A degree in civil engineering in roads and water or equivalent building technical education is a merit. What is decisive is documented specialized expertise in structural calculations and dimensioning.
At least 10–15 years of experience in building construction
Experience as a structural engineer, calculation specialist, senior designer, or in a similar specialist role
Very strong expertise in structural calculations and FEM analysis
Experience in dimensioning in steel, concrete, and wood
Experience with existing structures, renovation projects, and technical investigations
Good experience with FEM-Design or equivalent calculation software
