At AFRY Advanced Automation in Stockholm, we continue to grow – and now we want to expand our team! We are specialists in industrial automation and deliver smart, customized solutions to both private and public customers. Here you'll work on technology-intensive projects that truly make a difference – for real.
Your Role – Where Ideas Become Reality
As an automation engineer with us, you'll be a key player throughout the entire project journey: from initial sketches and system concepts to completed commissioning. You work closely with our customers and get to shape solutions that drive their operations forward.
Our assignments vary greatly – one day you might make minor programming changes or upgrades, and the next day you could be part of building entirely new factories or facilities from the ground up. This variation is what makes the job both challenging and incredibly developmental.
You will work with, among other things:
Programming in DCS, PLC, and SCADA
Troubleshooting and problem-solving at a high technical level
Documentation and quality assurance of your solutions
Technical consulting and customer dialogue, where you become the customer's closest technical partner
You work both on-site at our customers and on our own in-house projects – perfect if you enjoy varying pace, environment, and tasks.
A Project We're Particularly Proud Of
Right now, we're involved in renovating one of Stockholm's wastewater treatment plants to become one of the world's most modern. The new facility uses advanced membrane technology to increase capacity and meet future environmental requirements.
AFRY is responsible for all electrical design and automation – and approximately 25 employees from our Stockholm offices work dedicated to the project every day.
We have several similar projects underway, and therefore we're looking for a senior automation engineer who wants to drive this work forward, with placement in Solna or Södertälje.

Qualifications

Relevant education in the field or equivalent work experience.
Several years of experience with engineering projects for new process facilities.
Many years of experience as an automation engineer and strong knowledge of working in Siemens software, specifically SIMATIC PCS 7, is highly meriting. Experience with other DCS/PLC/SCADA systems is also relevant and interesting for the position.
A valid driver's license (Category B), as travel for periods is a natural part of your role.
Excellent knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
