The Higher Education Pedagogy Section is part of the university library, whose overall mission is to support education, research, and collaboration. The university library is a learning environment and a resource for information provision, knowledge dissemination, and education. The work takes place in dialogue with the university's students, teachers, and researchers. Together we are around 70 employees with different professions.
Contribute to Sustainable Education of the Highest Quality
We are looking for you to lead and develop operations within the Higher Education Pedagogy Section. The section brings together scientific expertise in the field of higher education, competence development processes, and ICT pedagogy in order to support the university's education and competence development. Within the section there is responsibility for accredited higher education pedagogy education, doctoral advisor training, and courses in examination in higher education and pedagogical leadership. The section also offers consultative activities and various types of competence development for all staff categories.
The education environment administration object, which is responsible for education support systems such as learning platform, media service, survey system, system for digital exams, and plagiarism detection, is part of the section. This also includes support from ICT pedagogues to teachers in the use of digital methods in teaching and support from text advisors to primarily students in academic writing, reading, presentation, and study techniques.
The assignment involves personnel and work environment responsibility for 20-25 employees. You will be part of the university library's management group, participate in strategic discussions in various forums, and contribute to the university's development in dialogue with the faculties. Environmental monitoring is central to the role, and space can be made for some own research.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who have an academic degree at an advanced level. A doctoral degree is a merit. You should have experience teaching in higher education and an interest and skill in pedagogical and digital development. The role requires a good understanding of higher education's societal mission and education's conditions at both undergraduate, advanced, and research levels.
You have experience in leadership and in driving change initiatives. You have the ability to create engagement and a good work environment and to lead toward common goals. We are looking for you who want to practice trustworthy, clear, and motivating leadership. A central part of the role is to create networks both within and outside Linnaeus University, which means you need to be collaborative, receptive, and curious. Experience with personnel and work environment responsibility is a merit.
Furthermore, you have very good communicative and linguistic abilities in both English and Swedish. We also seek analytical and reflective ability. Particular weight will be given to qualifications that can demonstrate the ability to conduct higher education pedagogy development work.
Start Date/Duration
The employment is a permanent position, 100% with start date 2027-01-01 or by agreement, and a probationary period of six months. Individual salary setting is applied, which is why salary expectations should be attached to the application.
Work Location
Kalmar or Växjö. The work involves duties at both locations.
