We ensure that operations run smoothly by delivering high-quality service every day. Our facilities managers play a crucial role in both the care environment and patient experience. Through professional facilities management, we help prevent disease transmission and preserve the value of Region Västerbotten's properties. Internal Services is facing a major transformation where we, together with the Service Center, will form a new base unit in autumn 2026. As a section chief for facilities management, your assignment is to contribute to the change process and, above all, create a secure environment for your employees. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES As a section chief with us, you see the bigger picture and potential and lead us forward with courage. You serve as a role model and work purposefully to create shared visions and unlock initiative in the operation. You take responsibility for your operation within the scope of given authority and represent the employer by leading and directing toward established goals for the Region's benefit. In this role, you are offered an assignment with great variety and broad contact areas. You lead and distribute work within the facilities management section and are responsible for personnel, work environment, and the administration that comes with the assignment. You lead a group of approximately 30 employees and ensure good conditions for their work and development. Since your employees work with facilities management, it is important that you are physically available; opportunities to work remotely are therefore limited. As a section chief, you work together with other section chiefs to develop, quality-assure, and advance the operation in accordance with our goals in collaboration with your supervisor, the department chief. Through present and structured leadership, you build well-functioning teams, utilize competencies, and work toward efficient and professional operations. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with relevant university education or other education or experience that the employer considers equivalent. To succeed in this role, you need to have experience working as a manager. We appreciate if you have experience as a manager in a service-oriented operation where you have led employees with a customer-focused assignment. As a section chief at Internal Services, you need to enjoy leading and working closely with your employees. You become part of a team where we work together for the operation's and employees' development. To succeed in this role, you are structured and organized, with the ability to prioritize even when the pace is high. You have a clear focus on order where you create systems and organization in both documentation and work methods. You have good initiative and are willing to take courageous action to drive the work forward. You show trust in others and work toward good relationships by acting considerately and in a trust-building manner in collaborations. You have good communication skills and can express yourself in a smooth manner. We appreciate if you have an interest in digital solutions and strong ability to use digital tools to support planning, communication, documentation, and reporting. You have very good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing, good knowledge of English in speech and writing, and handle the Office package well. Since travel is part of the position, you need to hold a Class B driver's license. Employment type: Permanent employment. Duration: Indefinite. The role as manager within Region Västerbotten is a fixed-term assignment, typically 4 years, which is combined with a permanent employment within your area of expertise.
