Description
As a school counselor, you will work primarily on health promotion and prevention, as well as intervention measures at both group and individual levels, with the goal of creating a positive environment for students' health, learning, and development. You will have regular contact with students, parents, school staff, support organizations, and authorities.
You will work through various types of conversations, both individual and group-based, and provide guidance and consultation to school staff, as well as provide support when crises and conflicts arise. You will participate in network meetings and play an active role in plans to prevent discrimination and bullying.
You will be part of the school's student health team, where you represent the psychosocial expertise. IES has a central student health function where a coordinating counselor is included. The coordinating counselor introduces new counselors, invites them to various meetings, and provides support in day-to-day work.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work. Experience from working in schools and with child, youth, and family social services is a merit. You have competence in conversation methodology and experience using various types of conversation models. It is important that you have both the ability to work independently and collaborate in a team, as well as strong ability to cooperate with other societal actors such as social services and child and adolescent psychiatric services. Great weight will be placed on your personal qualities such as social competence, flexibility, and collaboration skills.
