Artifon is a consulting firm specializing in acoustics, AV technology, stage lighting, and stage technology—a somewhat unique combination for performing arts projects. We can therefore manage the complete design of facilities for performing arts and find the best solutions. We enjoy working with theaters, cultural centers, music schools, concert halls, and opera houses. We are also active cultural consumers, and several of us have backgrounds in the performing arts, both on and behind the stage. We also work with other types of public spaces such as universities and colleges, sports and event arenas, conference and congress facilities, churches, and recording studios. Our projects include, among others, the Royal Opera House, Gothenburg Opera, Älta Kulturknut, Stockholm University of the Arts, New Art in Gothenburg, and Kungsbacka Arena. We currently have five acousticians, five AV consultants, and one consultant in stage technology/stage lighting. Now we want to strengthen our team further in stage technology (stage mechanics/lifting technology). Job Description As a stage technical consultant at Artifon, you will work with design projects, from initial feasibility study to final inspection. The role includes conducting needs analyses and estimates in close dialogue with the client and operations. You will participate in and lead stage technical matters in project meetings, and ensure that design information (such as descriptions, load calculations, and drawings) is delivered to the project's other consultants: architects, structural engineers, and electrical consultants. The role also includes preparing tender documents and evaluating bids together with the client, as well as conducting inspections of completed installations. The work involves site visits to follow project development and conducting final inspections after completed projects. The role also includes sales work such as monitoring the market and participating in sales to actors in construction, real estate, municipalities and regions, as well as representing Artifon at trade fairs, conferences, and symposiums. The position includes monitoring developments in the field of stage technical installations, with regard to market trends, regulations, legislation, and new products. We are looking for someone who has: • Knowledge and experience in stage technology • Good understanding of mechanics, including static and dynamic loads and how these affect stage technical installations • Knowledge of lifting device standards, machinery directives, and other relevant regulations • Basic electrical knowledge to be able to size electrical supply for stage technology • Good ability to communicate in speech and writing in Swedish and English • Good IT skills In the role of stage technical consultant, you are expected to take responsibility and work independently, while also thriving in project groups and contributing to good collaboration. You have the ability to drive your own projects forward, communicate clearly and effectively, and work in a structured manner to meet set timelines. Furthermore, you are expected to be engaged in the industry's development and actively contribute with knowledge and initiatives. Meriting factors • Experience in consulting work • Experience in preparing tender documents and framework agreements • Experience working in theater, opera, concert halls, or other performing arts organizations • Experience in design projects in complex cultural, public, or educational environments • Education in event technology, rigging, stage technology, or similar • Experience in the stage lighting field • Knowledge of BIM and 3D design We place greater emphasis on your competence and experience than on your formal education. It is also important that you have a genuine interest in the performing arts. Background Your background can vary. There are many paths into this role, for example, if you currently work as: • Consultant in stage technology • Technical coordinator, stage foreman, rigging foreman, or lighting master in theater or performing arts • Engineer in construction or mechanics • Project manager in the stage technology industry • Inspector in lifting technology • Trained event technician, rigging master, or similar The role can be shaped according to your profile, but the most important thing is that you have the technical understanding, industry insight, and drive to develop tomorrow's stage environments together with us. The workplace is at our offices in Gothenburg or Stockholm or remotely via satellite office. Do you recognize yourself in this description? Feel free to contact us and welcome with your application.
