Stage Technician at Väven, Culture Administration

Umeå is known for its creative climate with a rich and inspiring cultural life. This includes the cultural center Väven, opera house, museums, festivals, and a wide range of performing arts and events. We are now seeking two stage technicians for the Program Department, the Arrangements and Stages unit, with primary placement at the Väven Stage and Kaj Stage in Väven. The unit includes technicians, producers, booking coordinators, program coordinators, communicators, and other functions that together enable a large number of public events throughout the year. Your responsibilities As a stage technician, you will work with planning, implementing, and following up on the technical aspects of events at the Väven Stage and Kaj Stage. The work includes, among other things: Rigging, assembly and disassembly of equipment before and after events Sound, lighting, and stage management for concerts, performances, conferences, and other events Collaboration with organizers, producers, and other roles connected to stage operations at Väven Technical planning and execution of events Maintenance and development of technical equipment and stage environment Ensuring a good work environment and safety during productions You work both independently and in teams, and are an important part of creating professional and well-functioning events for audiences and participants. About you To thrive in this role, we see that you are solution-oriented, responsible, and have very good knowledge and experience in stage and event technology. You are service-minded and have good ability to collaborate with many different stakeholders, both internally and externally. The work can be periodically intense and requires you to manage multiple tasks in parallel and work flexibly. We place great importance on personal suitability. Requirements for the position Post-secondary education in stage technology, sound, lighting, or equivalent experience Many years of experience with technical work in stage, events, or similar operations Knowledge of sound and/or lighting technology Experience with rigging and stage work Good knowledge of Swedish and English, spoken and written Basic knowledge of Office applications B-level driver's license Meritorious Experience working in broad cultural operations Competence in stage automation, video, or streaming technology Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and work environment practices We consider it highly meritorious if you already hold relevant safety and authorization certificates related to stage work and stage technology.
