Do you want to evaluate research based on established methodology and contribute to evidence-based practice? SBU seeks a project manager who will evaluate the scientific support for interventions, treatments, and methods in healthcare. The Swedish Agency for Health and Care Services Evaluation (SBU) seeks a project manager for the mental health unit at the healthcare department. The unit works with both government assignments and self-initiated questions in project form, and produces scientific evidence reports for, among others, the National Board of Health and Welfare. The unit primarily evaluates and compiles the effects and experiences of psychological treatments for various psychiatric conditions and problems. The population's mental health is a politically prioritized area. Several exciting assignments await, including those linked to the National Strategy for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention and the Inter-agency Plan for Better Addiction Care. The unit consists of about ten employees, and day-to-day operations are led by a unit manager. SBU is a knowledge authority under the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs with the mission to conduct scientific evaluations of methods in healthcare including dental care. SBU also evaluates interventions within social services and services supported by the Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments, as well as the importance of work environment for disease development. We strive for high quality in our evaluations and other reports. The authority has just over 110 employees, and collaboration is the core of our daily work and the foundation for a positive work environment. Duties A project manager at SBU is responsible for advancing projects according to schedule and budget, and has the ability to lead, organize, prioritize, and manage multiple parallel projects. Much of the work is conducted in smaller project groups, which is why responsiveness and collaboration skills are important qualities. Examples of duties include reviewing scientific literature, analyzing and compiling results, writing manuscripts, and communicating findings. The work also includes recruiting and collaborating with external experts and other stakeholders such as patient and user representatives. The duties also include cooperation with other authorities, method development, training initiatives, and international collaboration. Qualifications • PhD in an area relevant to the unit, such as psychiatry or psychology. • Experience with project management with strong ability to plan, lead, organize, and execute projects. • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written. Meritorious • Licensed profession within a relevant sector of healthcare. • Experience with collaboration between academic research and the healthcare sector. • Good knowledge of mental health and suicide prevention with regard to, for example, investigation, diagnosis, and treatment. • Experience with conducting systematic reviews. • Good knowledge of quantitative and/or qualitative research methodology. • Own research experience after PhD. • Experience with inter-agency collaboration. Personal qualities As a person, you communicate easily and build trusting relationships. You are thorough, solution-oriented, pedagogical, and have good collaboration skills. The work also requires that you are independent, have sound judgment, high personal integrity, and can manage working on multiple projects in parallel. Scope and start date The position is a permanent full-time employment (100%). SBU applies a 6-month probationary period. Start date by agreement.
