The Social Services Department is responsible for interventions, support, and services to individuals and families in the municipality. Our operations are governed primarily by the Social Services Act, the LSS Act, and the Health and Medical Care Act, and we shall implement interventions regulated by these laws. All operations are centered on the individual to meet their needs. The mission involves strong customer focus and service mindedness. At Individual and Family Care, we handle administrative matters within various parts of social services. We also have open care services for adults, children, and families. We are now developing Mentorship for Young People! An intensive and relationship-based open care intervention for children and young people who have norm-breaking behavior and are at high risk of developing or continuing in criminality. Mentorship for Young People works closely in young people's everyday lives. Here, relationship, structure, flexibility, and practical support are central tools. We are there where change needs to happen – at school, at home, in leisure time, and in collaboration with important people and actors around the young person. WORK TASKS As a specially qualified contact person, you work on behalf of social services with children and young people who need intensive support to break negative patterns and strengthen positive development. The work is based on the young person's needs, risk and protective factors, and decided goals. The role involves working closely with the young person in their everyday life. You build relationships, create trust, and provide support, but you also need to be clear, maintain direction, and motivate change. This can involve supporting the young person to get to school, participate in leisure activities, handle conflicts, follow through on important contacts, or break destructive behaviors. The work tasks include, among other things: • creating and maintaining trustful and professional relationships with young people and guardians • motivating and supporting young people in school, leisure, and social settings • providing practical support in the young person's everyday life • contributing to structure, responsibility-taking, and positive development • working preventatively against norm-breaking behavior and criminality • collaborating with case workers, schools, police, healthcare, open care services, leisure activities, and other actors • contributing to the implementation of plans into concrete action • documenting and following up on work according to current procedures • participating in the operation's quality and development work The work is largely operational and takes place in the young person's everyday life. This means that working hours can vary and that some working time may be scheduled for evenings and weekends. You work in a team with support from colleagues, work leaders, and your manager. QUALIFICATIONS You have post-secondary education with a focus on social work, behavioral science, or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You have a category B driver's license. You can express yourself well in both speech and writing. It is advantageous if you have experience in social work with children and young people, norm-breaking behavior, criminality, family work, harmful use, mental health issues, or collaboration with social services, schools, and other actors. It is also advantageous if you have training in conversation methods, such as motivational interviewing or other methods relevant to the target group. Personal competencies: • You have a good ability to build trustful relationships and meet young people in complex life situations. • You are secure, stable, and clear even in pressured or unpredictable situations. • You collaborate well and create good relationships with young people, guardians, colleagues, and collaboration partners. • You are resourceful, solution-focused, and have the ability to translate plans into concrete action. • You are flexible and can adapt your working style to changed needs and conditions. • You have a professional approach and can combine warmth and commitment with clarity and boundary-setting. • You are unpretentious, curious, and want to contribute to developing the operation together with others. Interviews will be held on 9/25, 9/28, and 9/30. Salary form: Monthly salary. Type of employment: Permanent employment. Duration: Until further notice, start date: By agreement.
