WORK RESPONSIBILITIES As a Civil Defense Coordinator, you will be in a key position to develop and implement strategies that strengthen the region's civil defense and preparedness for climate change, crises, and conflict. You will be a driving force in creating effective preparedness plans, conducting risk analyses, and coordinating resources to ensure the region has fundamental capabilities for crisis and conflict management. Your contribution will be critical in building a strong and resilient civil defense where you actively help create the conditions necessary for rapid and effective management of serious challenges to society. Key responsibilities • monitor the external environment and develop, advance, and implement guiding documents within civil defense and preparedness • analyze authority directives and identify actions the region needs to take in planning its operations • coordinate work on total and civil defense planning within the region • participate in and collaborate at local, regional, and national levels • lead work on climate impact related to civil defense, preparedness, and the region's planning efforts. You work methodically and drive your tasks forward independently while ensuring high quality. With your flexibility, you easily adapt to changing conditions and switch between long-term development work and more urgent matters without losing focus on organizational goals. You have strong collaboration skills and build trusting relationships that promote cooperation with both internal and external partners. Through clear and engaging communication, you inspire and influence others, create understanding for shared goals, and contribute to developing Region Gävleborg's work in civil defense and preparedness. Required for success in this role • a bachelor's degree in risk, crisis, or conflict management, or another bachelor's degree in an area involving civil defense, or equivalent work experience relevant to the role. It is advantageous if you have experience working with civil defense. We would also appreciate if you have knowledge of or experience in climate and environment work, particularly related to climate impact and climate adaptation. The position is security-classified and requires you to be a Swedish citizen. A security clearance and background check will be conducted before employment. We use a probationary employment period.
