The Education Office in Sollentuna is responsible, on behalf of the Education Committee, for preschool, primary school, adapted primary school, upper secondary school, and adapted upper secondary school. The municipality has a total of approximately 19,000 registered children and students. Our vision is to become Sweden's best school municipality. We are now seeking a coordinator for school attendance monitoring for the authority administration unit who will be a key person in our work to ensure that students receive the education they are entitled to. The unit employs ten case handlers including preschool coordinators, upper secondary school coordinators, school legal adviser, administrative specialist, case handler for school applications, and school transportation handler. Team members have diverse educational backgrounds and work experience, and all complement each other, resulting in the unit having broad expertise within the Education Committee's areas of responsibility. The unit works in teams where possible. Job Responsibilities As coordinator, you are responsible for the municipality's school attendance monitoring and work with authority administration according to the Education Act. You investigate absence cases via the municipality's e-service, follow up reports from school principals and headmasters, and ensure that schools fulfill their responsibilities. The role also includes handling other types of cases such as supplementary allowances. The main assignment for this position is to work as coordinator to maintain the Education Committee's school attendance monitoring. You will investigate absence cases, work with authority administration based on the Education Act, and maintain close dialogue with various functions within the municipality as well as other agencies and guardians. You represent the student's perspective in all parts of the process and work closely with schools, central functions, guardians, and external actors such as BUP, BUMM, and social services. The role includes participating in SIP meetings and contributing to structures that make it easier for schools to work with legal certainty and efficiency. You support schools in their investigation and intervention work. You identify complex cases, raise them in the right forums, and contribute to developing procedures and working methods. The role is varied and requires perseverance, availability, and the ability to manage many processes simultaneously. The role also includes handling other types of cases such as supplementary allowances. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is confident, analytical, solution-oriented, and who thrives in a role where school law, collaboration, and the child's best interest are in focus. You have good school law knowledge and understanding of public administration. You are accustomed to working independently, making decisions, and driving cases forward. The role requires that you are confident in difficult conversations and have the ability to create structure in complex cases. You are flexible and thrive in an environment with a high pace and many contact points. You easily build trusting relationships while representing your employer professionally, in both internal and external contexts. Requirements Legal, political science, or social science degree, or other education that the employer deems appropriate Experience with authority administration within public administration Experience handling or investigating cases concerning authority administration Meritorious Work experience from municipal education administration, the Swedish Schools Inspectorate, the School Inspectorate, or other school authority Knowledge of public access and confidentiality legislation Knowledge of student health services work Application We will review applications during week 34.
