Do you want meaningful work tasks that make a difference in people's lives? Welcome to the municipality that is far from ordinary!
The Employment and Adult Education Administration works to provide more Botkyrka residents with the conditions to achieve financial independence through work, studies, or other paths to an independent life. The Administration is responsible for the municipality's labor market initiatives, day activities, adult education, and matters concerning post-secondary education.
At the start of the new year, the upper secondary school will become part of the Administration. This creates new opportunities to strengthen the connection between education, the labor market, and skills supply, and to develop cohesive support for Botkyrka residents through different stages of life.
Together we are currently approximately 400 employees and will be close to 800 after the new year. Through close cooperation with the business sector, educational providers, authorities, and other actors, we develop initiatives that make a difference for both individuals and society.
The Position and Your Tasks
We are looking for a coordinator who wants to develop, coordinate, and ensure quality in the municipality's Youth Activity Responsibility (KAA).
As a coordinator, you have a key role in the municipality's efforts to create conditions for more young people between 16 and 20 years old to return to studies or take the next step toward work and financial independence. Through a structured and long-term approach, you contribute to ensuring that each young person receives the right support based on their needs and circumstances.
The role combines a strategic development responsibility with operational work close to the target group. You are responsible for planning, coordinating, and developing the municipality's KAA activities while, together with your colleagues, participating in outreach work and meeting young people on their path forward toward studies or work.
Your main responsibilities are to:
Analyze the activities' results, gather statistics and decision-making materials, and identify areas for development
Plan and drive activity development within the municipality's Youth Activity Responsibility
Develop, implement, and follow up on routines, processes, and support materials
Responsible for documentation and ensuring the municipality's KAA register is current and meets school law requirements
Participate in and develop outreach work to reach more young people with the municipality's initiatives
Provide support and guidance to colleagues and, if needed, participate in operational work
In close collaboration with the unit manager, you translate the activities' goals into a structured approach, follow up on results, and drive development initiatives that strengthen the quality of the activities. The role also involves providing support to the work team and helping to develop and ensure that working methods, routines, and processes are followed.
What We Offer
You will become part of the Unit for Prevention, Youth and Projects, where we work to strengthen young people's opportunities to establish themselves in studies, work, and community life. The unit consists of 14 committed employees, including a unit manager, project managers, coordinators, labor market coaches, and staff within the municipality's Youth Activity Responsibility. Together we work closely with each other and in cooperation with other departments and external actors to create coordinated support for young people. Right now we are developing the municipality's Youth Activity Responsibility with a focus on a more outreach-oriented approach, strengthened cooperation, and systematic follow-up of the activities' results. As a coordinator, you will have a central role in that work.
With us, you will have a developmental role where you have the opportunity to influence both the activities' working methods and their continued development. We offer close leadership, committed colleagues, and good opportunities for skills development. As an employee of Botkyrka Municipality, you will benefit from our benefits and work in modern facilities in Alby with good transportation connections.
About You
You have a degree in social work or alternatively a higher education or university degree as a behavioral scientist, educator, or other education that the employer considers equivalent.
Other requirements:
Experience with activity development or development of working methods and processes.
Experience working with young people.
Experience working with study and labor market issues.
Several years of experience in a coordinating role where you have been responsible for coordinating initiatives or driving cooperation between different actors.
We consider it an advantage if you have:
Experience as a coordinator within the municipality's Youth Activity Responsibility (KAA).
Experience with outreach work directed at young people.
Training in motivational interviewing (MI).
You are relationship-building and collaboration-oriented and have an easy time creating trusting relationships with young people, colleagues, and external partners. Through attentive communication and clear messaging, you create engagement, participation, and shared understanding based on each young person's needs and the activities' common goals. You contribute to well-functioning cooperation where different competencies are leveraged to provide young people with cohesive and high-quality support.
You are analytical, action-oriented, and results-focused. You work purposefully, take initiative, and drive the work forward by analyzing materials, identifying development needs, and translating your conclusions into concrete improvements. When circumstances change, you make well-founded assessments, prioritize the right initiatives, and find solutions that create the best possible conditions for both the young people and the activities.Do you want meaningful work tasks that make a difference in people's lives?
