DUTIES
As a coordinator, your mission will be to support and coordinate work with the Finnish administrative area in our municipality.
The role includes:
· Based on Östhammars Municipality's Plan for National Minorities, develop an annual action plan for the Finnish language.
· Support the municipality's offices and follow up on measures and activities in the annual action plan.
· Administer and coordinate regular consultations with the Sweden-Finnish minority.
· Develop consultation methods where children and young people can participate.
· Responsible for financial monitoring and reporting of government grants for the Finnish administrative area.
· Organize internal training on minority legislation.
· Communicate internally and externally about activities within the Finnish administrative area and about national minorities' rights.
· Be an expert in the Finnish administrative area and provide support to the municipality's offices.
· Report to MUCF, committees, management groups, and consultative bodies.
Work with the Finnish administrative area is part of the Culture and Recreation Office. The coordinator position is placed in the Culture and Library unit, which consists of 15 employees. Work is largely during daytime, but working hours in evenings and weekends may occur to be able to cooperate with associations and activities within Östhammars Municipality.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you with administrative experience and good computer skills. You have fluent command of both Swedish and Finnish in speech and writing. If you have previous experience in communication and coordination work, that is a merit. It is also an advantage if you have a driver's license and have previously worked in a politically managed organization.
To be successful in the role, you need to be communicative with a very good ability to create relationships and build networks. To independently lead, coordinate, and drive matters forward is something you are good at. You organize your work in a structured manner and are socially competent.
