The Position and Your Tasks We are seeking an experienced urban planner who wants to take on a municipality-wide responsibility for Botkyrka's strategic work in infrastructure, mobility, and sustainable transportation. You will lead and coordinate the municipality's long-term planning in this field and develop strategies, analyses, and decision-making documentation that shape Botkyrka's future development. A central part of your assignment is to manage the connections between physical planning, transportation infrastructure, climate adaptation, preparedness, and civil defense. By identifying needs, dependencies, and consequences, you contribute to robust, accessible, and sustainable societal development. You will drive issues from early strategic stages through implementation and represent the municipality's interests in dialogue with, among others, the Swedish Transport Administration, Region Stockholm, other municipalities, and national authorities. The work also involves close collaboration with municipal departments and various professions to create shared priorities and well-anchored decision-making documentation. Your main responsibilities: lead and coordinate the municipality's strategic planning in transportation infrastructure, mobility, and sustainable transportation develop and implement strategies, plans, analyses, and investigations within your area of responsibility analyze needs, dependencies, and consequences related to climate adaptation, preparedness, and civil defense lead municipality-wide processes, projects, and development assignments involving multiple stakeholders represent the municipality and coordinate its interests in regional and national planning processes develop decision-making documentation, prepare matters for political consideration, and make data and results accessible to the organization. As an urban planner, you serve as qualified support in the municipality's work on physical planning and contribute to developing shared working methods in this field. Your role also includes presenting complex matters clearly to decision-makers, operations, and external stakeholders. About You You hold an academic degree in urban planning, physical planning, traffic planning, transportation planning, civil engineering, or environmental studies. Alternatively, you hold another relevant academic degree that the employer considers equivalent. You have several years of experience in qualified work in urban planning, transportation, mobility, or infrastructure. Other requirements: Experience with strategic work on transportation and mobility issues in a public sector organization. Experience developing or implementing strategies, plans, investigations, and decision-making documentation. Experience leading or driving complex projects and processes involving multiple stakeholders. Experience collaborating across organizational and professional boundaries. Experience developing written documentation and presenting complex matters in Swedish. We consider it an advantage if you have: Experience in infrastructure planning and collaboration with the Swedish Transport Administration, Region Stockholm, or other regional infrastructure and public transportation actors. Experience procuring and leading consultants in infrastructure or urban planning projects. Experience integrating climate, environmental, or sustainability perspectives in transportation and infrastructure planning. Experience in comprehensive planning, detailed planning, or regional planning. Experience planning for resilient infrastructure, climate adaptation, preparedness, or civil defense. Experience working in a politically governed organization. As an urban planner, you are analytical and structured. You can engage with complex planning issues, identify connections and consequences, and translate extensive information into clear choices and decision-making documentation. You plan and follow up on multiple long-term assignments in parallel and maintain processes where different time perspectives and dependencies need to be managed. You are collaboration-oriented and confident in your professional role. You build trust in collaboration with decision-makers, colleagues, authorities, and other external stakeholders and can gather different perspectives around shared priorities. At the same time, you stand firmly by your expertise, advocate for the municipality's interests, and drive strategic issues forward even when interests and circumstances differ.
