Security Coordinator for the Social Services Department, Halmstad Municipality
Security work is about being prepared when something happens, but above all about working to prevent it from happening in the first place. As a Security Coordinator at our Social Services Department, you will have a broad role where long-term planning meets the concrete security issues that arise in our operations. We are looking for someone who wants to be close to the work and who thrives on switching between strategic and operational work. You dare to take action and give advice when the situation requires it, but you also know that good security work is rarely created alone. Through dialogue, collaboration, and a coaching approach, you will help us develop security work that functions in practice, not just on paper. Who are you? To succeed in this role, you need to be confident in yourself and your competence. You dare to act when the situation requires it, stand firm in your assessments, and can give clear advice even when the questions are complex and there is no obvious answer. At the same time, we believe you understand that security work is as much about people as it is about routines and guidelines. You have the ability to build trust, guide, and bring managers and employees along in the work. Furthermore, you enjoy being out in our operations, listening to their needs, and finding solutions together that are both safe and work in everyday practice. You also need to be skilled at shifting your perspectives. One day you work long-term with development, planning, and preventive security work. The next day, an incident may require you to quickly familiarize yourself with the situation, support the operations, and translate analysis into concrete measures and action plans. We therefore believe you are solution-oriented and action-driven, but also receptive and flexible. You see the bigger picture in the work and don't get stuck in organizational boundaries or who formally "owns" a particular issue. For you, dialogue, collaboration, and shared responsibility are important parts of security work that holds up over time. Your responsibilities As a Security Coordinator, you have a central role in developing and coordinating the Social Services Department's security work. The assignment is broad and involves working both strategically and operatively, and this happens close to our operations and the challenges that exist in their daily work. An important part of the role is to be a practical support to managers and employees. You train and guide in areas such as threats and violence, and contribute to developing approaches to prevent and handle difficult situations. Within, for example, LSS (disability services), this could involve working together with the operation to find ways to handle threatening or acting-out situations in a safe and secure manner. You also work with the department's crisis and preparedness efforts. How do we ensure that operations can continue in case of disruptions, such as power or water supply failures? Are our procedures for personal alarms and evacuation adequate? How do we organize ourselves when a major incident occurs? These are some of the questions you work on together with the operations to strengthen and ensure our preparedness. The assignment includes, among other things: Coordinate and develop work on security, crisis preparedness, and continuity planning Provide ongoing support to operations, both preventive and in case of incidents Matters concerning alarms, locks, personal alarms, and other physical security solutions Contribute to work on fire protection and systematic fire safety work, and participate in, for example, inspections Develop preventive work against welfare fraud Develop the department's incident management methodology Lead and coordinate projects and development initiatives within the security area. You will have many contact points and work closely with, among others, the department's property managers. Security issues rarely follow organizational boundaries, and the role therefore also involves close collaboration across the municipality. You participate in joint security forums, planning, and cross-departmental projects. In other words, this is not a role where security work is conducted solely from a desk. To succeed, you need to be willing to stay close to the operations, understand their conditions, and be able to translate guidelines and security work into solutions that work in practice. Your qualifications To be relevant for the position, you need to have work experience in one or more of the following areas: Work experience in one of the following areas: - Threats & violence - Crisis preparedness and other preparedness matters - Personal security Swedish citizenship Fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written B-class driver's license (manual) A strong interest in security matters It is advantageous if you have Post-secondary or vocational training that can be considered relevant to the position Previous work within a social services department Experience leading and managing projects Systematic fire safety work Good administrative skills The position is security-sensitive and therefore requires approved security clearance for employment to be possible.
