About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is expanding – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now looking for more employees. This position is placed within the Borås Operations Area, which consists of Remand Prison Borås, Remand Prison Borås Brodal, Remand Prison Västeråsen, and Prison Borås. The workplace where the position is placed is Remand Prison Borås Brodal, located near Borås Central Station, but Remand Prison Borås, which is part of the police station in central Borås, is also included in the work area for this position. Job Description As a Security Officer, you will work operationally and strategically with security-related issues at Remand Prison Borås and Remand Prison Borås Brodal. You report directly to the Prison Inspector for Security. In this role, you will work broadly and your workdays will vary depending on the facility's needs. Close and good collaboration with employees in various positions and functions is a very important part of your assignment as you are a support function to the core operations. You have an active role in collaboration with the security department at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service headquarters, the police authority, and other actors in the criminal justice chain. You also participate in local and external collaboration forums on security matters. As a Security Officer, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on systematic security work, as well as establishing and implementing instructions and action plans. The role involves independent work in developing analyses and forecasts to develop security work. You assist the organization with decision-making documentation, such as through risk and vulnerability analyses, incident investigations, and environmental analysis. You compile, draw conclusions, and make recommendations on relevant protective measures. You follow up on and support work related to security-related incident reports, conduct local investigations, and provide training as assigned. Qualifications Your personal qualities are important. As a Security Officer, you need to be confident, stable, have good self-awareness, sound judgment, and integrity. We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a structured approach. The role requires you to be responsible and have a commitment to developing operations and its procedures and methods. As a Security Officer, you have a central role in collaboration, so you need to have good teamwork skills and be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. You have good teaching skills and adapt your communication style to the recipient and situation. To thrive and succeed in your assignment, it is important that you share the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's fundamental values of a humanistic view of people, respect for the individual, and belief in human development. You are also aware of and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect both yourself and others. We are looking for someone with: Complete upper secondary education or other education combined with work experience that the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant Experience in security work Excellent knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form Good computer skills Class B driver's license It is also advantageous to have: Academic education in areas the Swedish Prison and Probation Service deems relevant (for example, in security or criminology) Well-documented experience in security work within public operations Well-documented experience in a supervisory or teaching role Well-documented experience in establishing, formulating, and writing instructions, action plans, and similar documents Experience in investigative work Experience in decision-making roles Experience in the areas of systematic fire safety work, information security, technical/physical security Experience in civil preparedness work Other Information The Swedish Prison and Probation Service has chosen to remove the personal letter and replaced it with selection questions relevant to the position.
