WORK TASKS We are seeking a Safety and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator who will collect and coordinate both the strategic and operational work within school safety and emergency preparedness. Your role will be crucial in preventing, resisting, and managing crisis situations within the Children and Youth Services operations. You will work to reduce vulnerability during societal disruptions and ensure a safe and secure environment in the municipality's preschools and schools. In this position, you will also be a contact person for both internal and external cooperation partners in the areas of safety, crime prevention, and emergency preparedness. Your main tasks will be to lead the work with, provide support for, and have an advisory function within safety, crime prevention, and emergency preparedness to the department management and to provide operational support to principals and unit managers. Broadly speaking, the position involves emergency preparedness, crisis management, school safety, and crime prevention. The position also includes, in addition to being both advisory and supportive, examining and quality assuring safety and emergency preparedness processes in relation to operations and providing support to principals and unit managers. In the operational support to principals and unit managers, you will coordinate and plan training and competency-enhancing measures to increase units' preparedness regarding emergency preparedness, crime prevention, and school safety, as well as provide concrete support and advice in situations that arise. This is a role for you who wants to contribute your expertise in safety and emergency preparedness and analytical ability to support operations in creating the best possible conditions for children and students in Alingsås Municipality. QUALIFICATIONS We see that you have a completed higher education degree in safety, emergency preparedness, civil protection, or similar. Alternatively, other relevant education combined with experience. You have several years of experience in safety, crisis preparedness, crime prevention, or staff work, preferably within municipal operations and especially in the school sector. In the role as Safety and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, you need to be structured, methodical, and pedagogical. You are part of a team but are expected to take independent responsibility for the department's processes in developing and maintaining safety, crime prevention, and emergency preparedness. You should be used to setting and working toward goals and have an easy time adapting when circumstances change. With a trustworthy and unpretentious approach, you create good relationships with colleagues and managers. You enjoy practical work where you can give concrete advice and provide direct support to the principal. The ability to see connections between safety, emergency preparedness, and operations is important in the role. You can also convey a clear overview of complex issues and translate them into concrete materials for decision-making on measures. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
